Freelance Solution and Cloud Architect

As a freelance solution architect, I offer following services to several clients on project / part-time basis:

• Mentoring of customer engineers, training of clients and internal staff.
• Ensuring the deployment of high quality deliverables to the client environment.
• Providing technical architecture expertise and solution design guidance.

The projects delivered or worked upon include:

• Loyalty and Customer Activation platform for a large appliance producer - architecture for two greenfield mobile applications supporting B2C and B2B customers, together with a custom backend platform covering AI product recognition, loyalty system management, and integration into existing company systems. Hosted on GCP using containerized technology.
• New CRM and ERP platform for Solar vendor - leading the effort of transforming the IT landscape of Solar vendor to new set of technologies based on custom-developed CRM and ERP platform Odoo. The work included a large scale integration platform based on event-sourcing and queuing principles.

Head of Technology

Led the technology efforts in the Automotive & Industry 4.0 division, owning architecture strategy and the engineering platform for a cross-functional team of 22 — including 3 solution architects and 10 senior specialists. Responsible for:

• defining the 2–3 year architectural roadmap and technology strategy for the division
• establishing and governing SDLC standards — architecture review, integration patterns, quality gates, and release process
• driving the internal developer platform and DX, and reducing technical debt to keep the architecture modular and agile
• mentoring and development of technology teams
• preparing and leading the efforts for presale activities

The projects delivered or worked upon include:

• System for Digital Check of Vignettes - the design of architecture for enforcement platform for Czech police and financial services to check and validate the possession of vignettes.
• System for Digital Landscape planning - the design of architecture for large scale government digitalization project.
• Connected Car platform for a major automotive OEM - architecture oversight of a high-load backend platform running on Kubernetes hosted in Azure, supporting mobile applications for end customers.

As part of the job, the responsibilities of IT Manager also included:

• leading the IT Operations and DevOps teams
• standardizing the ticketing and service request processes using IT4IT methodology
• designing a new infrastructure landscape and implementing the transition project

Solution Architect for Automotive and IoT

Working as the Solution Architect for a mobile application development company, I was responsible for:

• Producing the presale documentation, working with clients on definition of new projects, preparing the initial model of architecture and setup for development
• Working as a member of Scrum team, preparing the deliverables and collaborating with customer to define the acceptance criteria and roadmap for next sprints
• Design of the API and Integration between systems, working on system specifications for customers
• Responsible for DevOps setup on corporate projects, preparing the cloud setup, development guidelines and initial backend setup for mobile applications

The projects delivered or worked upon include:

• Mobile Platform for Czech's largest automotive producer - the design of architecture for a new version of mobile application platform, integration of Clean architecture principles for mobile application and Microservices in Cloud for backend, approval and deployment of new design patterns across several application teams
• Minialarm architecture - the architecture for Minialarm platform, the consolidation of documentation and growth opportunity designs

Web & Digital Platform Architect

As a Solution Architect on the Digital Delivery team, I was responsible for leading the transition of an existing business towards newly enabled digital opportunities:

• Architected a greenfield web platform for digital projects based on a Node.js serverless backend and React SPA frontend.
• Oversaw the creation of a business case and the successful delivery of all advantages that come with a digital platform.
• Integrated new digital projects into already existing backends.
• Designed the platform to meet PSD2 payment rules and GDPR data-protection requirements.
• Worked with multiple vendor and internal delivery teams to collaborate on individual deliveries with a single goal in mind.

Solution Architect Team Lead

Working as the Czech market team leader on the Solution Architecture & Development team, I was responsible for a team of 3 solution architects and 4 developers (ranging from internal employees to contractors) in the following areas:

• Managing the Czech Provident application architecture, integration principles and the common architecture repository.
• Delivering solution concepts, estimations and integration architecture for group-wide and local projects and programs (see below).
• Leading an in-house development team using the Kanban methodology, providing coaching to new team members and setting the development standards.
